Glenn Gould’s Obsessive Quest for the Perfect Piano. By Katie Hafner.

グレン・グールドのピアノの探求について書かれた本A Romance on Three Legsが出版されましたが、著者Katieが香港に来られレクチャーされました。

The book is written about Glenn Gould, one of the most famous pianists of the twentieth century who played a Steinway CD318. The author Katie Hafner was present along with Verne Edquist, an octogenarian nearly blind Canadian piano technician who was Glenn Gould’s personal technician.

20世紀で有名なピアニスト、グレン・グールドはスタインウエイ CD318を弾いていました。このピアノを調整していたグールドのピアノテクニシャン、ヴァーンさんとグールドのことが書かれた本です。ヴァーンさんも一緒に来られました。このおじいちゃんのピアノテクニシャンは、ほとんど目が見えません。

2^nd of October was HK holiday as the day following National day. I had invited to a Japanese pot-luck branch party at my friend’s home. We, five Japanese ladies brought Japanese food cooked by their own recipes. Look at this!
