Hello everyone! Wonderful News!! Famous English composer, mainly of choral music, Mr John Rutter in HK now and he also will conduct our St John’s Cathedral Choir tomorrow at 11:45 Choral Mattins service. We have had rehearsal with him yesterday!

みなさーん、素晴らしいニュースです！イギリスの作曲家、特に教会音楽がメインで合唱作品を多く書かれているジョン・ラッターさんが香港でコンサートをされるのですが、その合間に、私たちSt John’s Cathedral Choir 聖歌隊の明日の日曜日の礼拝で指揮をしていただくことになり、昨日、リハーサルがありました。

復活祭でたくさんのお花が飾られた大聖堂

   

We, Cathedral Choir sang Missa in illo Tempore/Monteverdi and Alleluia/Ralph Manuel(Brazilian composer) at Easter Day service. I like Manuel’s Alleluia very much! It’s very beautiful a cappella music with full of the colour.

私たち聖歌隊は、モンテベルディのミサと、ブラジルの作曲家ラルフ・マニュエルのアレルヤを歌いました。この曲はアカペラでラテン語のアレルヤのみですが、ハーモニーが変わっていくとても表情のある美しい曲です。この曲、大好き。

Merry Christmas!
We, St. John’s Cathedral Choir sang Missa pastoril para a noite de natal (1811) /José Maurício Nunes Garcia with chamber orchestra at Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve.

メリークリスマス！
St. John’s Cathedral では、クリスマス・イブに毎年恒例の真夜中のミサが行われ、Cathedral Choir 聖歌隊も大忙しです。今年は、ブラジルの作曲家 Nunes Garcia のクリスマスのミサ曲 (1811年) を小編成のオーケストラと歌いました。

I am singing at the St John’s Cathedral with the Cathedral Choir.
We sang Easter Day service; Herbert Howells/The Office of Holy Communion, Peter Philips/Ecce vicit Leo. 

St John’s Cathedral 大聖堂の聖歌隊で歌っていますが、今年の復活祭の礼拝では、イギリスの作曲家 Herbert Howells/The Office of Holy Communion, Peter Philips/Ecce vicit Leo を歌いました。美しくお花で飾られた大聖堂は、お花の香りで一杯です。
