Hello! 28 years old YAMAHA G2 needs basic maintenance today. Let’s clean inside the piano first.

こんにちは！今日は28歳のピアノの整備を行います。まずは、ピアノの中のお掃除から始めましょう。

Oh –! There is many dust here. The soundboard is cleaned properly.

あらら、こんなに埃が。。。響板もきれいにします。

The action and keyboard is removed and clean inside as well.

ピアノのアクション、鍵盤もはずしてお掃除！

There is a corrosion of metal parts due to high humidity level. It’s very common case in Hong Kong.

湿度が高かったせいで、金属の腐食が起きてしまいました。これは香港でよく見られるケースです。

It seems that dust accumulated 28 years…xxx I have been cleaning the surface and under the keys, cleaning the balance hole and polishing the balance & front pins. After that, the movement of the key was smoother.

まあ、大変！28年間の埃が積もっているようです。ピアノの整備は不必要な摩擦をなるべく取ってあげて、できるだけ鍵盤の動きが自由になるようにします。鍵盤を全部はずして内部の掃除、変色してしまっているバランス&フロントピンを磨き、バランスホールを綿棒を使って丁寧に掃除してあげます。

Piano fairy said “I feel refreshed after cleaning inside the piano!!” It’s good!
